Local security measures

There are security measures and other authentication procedures in use at Design Laboratory that prevent you from using the rcp, rsh, rlogin, telnet and ftp commands to copy files from one host to another or login remotely for machines on the Internet. You should use the ssh, scp and sftp commands to securely connect and transfer files between machines on the Internet. Look at the local help pages for more information.

Check with your local system administrator to find out what the situation is on your system.
